Rare chance to look behind the scenes at a Track Replacement Weekend on the Central Line between South Ruislip & Northolt.

The Northolt end of the worksite, all the work is currently going on at the South Ruislip End, here, the track panels has been lifted out, and thats all.

In the foreground you can see a thin layer of new ballast has been laid, and compacted, and is ready to recieve the new sleepers, the ends of which will be placed on the thin white paint line.

A Philmore machine is now lifting out the new concrete sleepers 4 at a time, to be manually guided into place on the thin white paint line seen in the foreground
